LMTG was launched in 2026 as a dedicated member group for the 2-wheeler and micromobility markets. Its scope is to develop the technical specification for digital key requirements in these markets, collaborate with the Certification Working Group on certification aspects, and collaborate with the Ecosystem Working Group on positioning for the specification and certification.

The CCC is a global standard development organization made up of over 300 of the most influential vehicle OEMs, device manufacturers, and technology companies with a shared mission to standardize the connected ecosystem around vehicles and devices with solutions that combine convenience, security, and privacy protections. We're proud to have developed the global standard for phone-as-a-key technology that is currently adopted by millions of smart devices and cars on the road today. Now we're expanding our focus into the 2-wheeler space. Current discussion areas include owner pairing, digital key import, key registration, BLE connection, range detection, and active and passive entry scenarios for 2-wheel vehicles.
Component Unlock
Members are also addressing controlled access to key vehicle components, including fuel tanks, storage compartments, and helmet locks, as part of the broader 2-wheeler access model.
